Alexandra Kozikova (she/her) is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC 3356) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT).

My path to becoming a counsellor has been shaped by my own life experiences. I grew up in a family where substance use and verbal abuse were present, and as I moved between cities and eventually across countries, I searched for a sense of belonging and purpose. I explored different careers, but nothing felt right. For years I lived disconnected from my body, until becoming a yoga teacher helped me rediscover awareness and grounding. Later, grief, anxiety, and panic attacks made it impossible to continue in my corporate work, and through these struggles I came to understand the importance of healing, resilience, and compassion.

These challenges, along with the experience of blending cultures in my own marriage, have given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of human relationships and the unique struggles faced by immigrants and multicultural families.

Today, as a client-centered, trauma-informed counsellor, I bring together evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, visualization, and relaxation techniques. My approach blends intuition and deep compassion—shaped by my spiritual journey—with the grounded, practical thinking I honed in the corporate world. This combination allows me to connect with clients on both an emotional and practical level, offering support as they navigate challenges and create lasting change.

I believe counselling is not only for times of crisis but also a powerful resource for self-discovery and growth. I am especially passionate about supporting women as they navigate challenges such as self-esteem, body image, grief, anxiety, relationship dynamics, career transitions, and the pressures of balancing multiple roles.
