Supervision Groups

A PRACTICE THAT MATTERS
Laura Bradley’s Clinical Supervision

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” – Ryunosuke Satoro

Laura Bradley is currently facilitating 3 supervision groups.

Laura has 30 years in the field of counselling and group facilitation , as a Registered Counselling Supervisor and a Master Therapeutic Counsellor, with ACCT and register Counsellor with ACTA. She founded her practice group in 2005 based on her desire to help her clients and her passion for training and developing counsellors. She truly believes that each counsellor comes into supervision with their own knowing and expertise. She works collaboratively to support counsellors to tap into their knowledge and provides practical tools based on her years of counselling and supervision experience.

Laura has found group supervision to be an integral part of being a healthy therapist. Putting time aside to reflect and share her thoughts and feelings with a group of peers continues to be a place of growth and self care for her as a professional counsellor.

What Counsellors Say

“When I entered private practice, Laura was the first person I contacted for supervision. Laura always asks great questions that support me to be in the best position to support my clients. I know that Laura will be mindful of considering my ethical and legal responsibilities, as well my therapeutic goals. She offers a great perspective and real ability to help me move forward with clients I am feeling stuck or unsure of. Each time I complete a supervision session with Laura I feel re-inspired; whether to try something I hadn’t considered before or to relax in knowing that I am on track. She makes private practice less scary.” – C.B.

Meeting Format

Each group runs for a term of 3-6 months at time. All group members commit for the whole term.

Meetings are held online via Zoom with the same group participants each month (i.e. no drop-ins).

Over the course of the term, all participants will have chances to present a client case or choose a topic for discussion. Everyone will be encouraged to give their feedback and perspective to their peers. Supervision groups are an interactive experience.

There’s also the opportunity to address a specific topic, determined by the group’s needs or wishes, such as:

  • affairs/betrayals
  • loss and grief
  • working with clients who have a challenging time feeling their feelings
  • high conflict couples
  • intimacy
  • addiction
  • depression/lack of affect, and
  • anxiety or hyper arousal.

There is also the opportunity to address and discuss additional topics, such as:

  • note taking
  • administrative best practices and issues
  • marketing
  • leadership, and
  • goals for professional and practice development

Topics are decided by the group as needed.

The meetings are two hours and you can claim the full two hours as supervision.
