Consulting with a registered counsellor in real time with a secure, video call* is a great use of technology to support mental wellbeing. Our clients find it to be very effective and convenient. During the global pandemic, many switched to online counselling out of necessity. They continue doing so for the convenience of meeting from their home or other private location.
How Online Counselling Works
Video appointments with our registered counselors are available for days, evenings and weekends.
Choose a time that works for you. Book your appointment in advance using our online scheduler or call our office at 604-629-7108.
After you book your session, you will receive two confirmation emails.
The first email will:
- confirm your appointment,
- ask to verify your email address, and
- provide an intake form for you to fill out before your session.
The second email will be 30 minutes prior to your online appointment with a link to join your session.
*Secure Video Calls
The online video technology we are using was created by Jane Software Inc in North Vancouver, specifically for practitioners serving their clients. Not to get too technical, but it is a “peer-to-peer” audiovisual connection meaning that the traffic flows between the two users’ browsers, bypassing any servers. The call is also encrypted in transit and none of the data is stored anywhere, at any time. Plus, video, audio and chat content cannot be recorded during the call. This ensures clients’ privacy and that our online sessions are compliant with all federal and provincial privacy legislation.
