Mia Balawi is a Registered Social Worker (RSW 15711) and has been practicing therapy for almost six years, and has been practicing within the field of mental health for just about 10 years. She was drawn to counselling through coincidence 0f trying the many different career routes that social work offered – counselling stood out. Mia enjoyed the one-on-one connections she made with clients and the ability to support change and healing through each session.

Mia’s passion lies within creating calm and supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to feel seen and heard.

Mia has a warm and collaborative approach based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals.

She works with children, youth, adults, couples, and families and has supported many individuals through all kinds of challenges.

She finds it especially rewarding to help individuals with personality disorders, mood disorders, ADHD and Autism. She believes connection is how healing happens, and that therapy can be a powerful place to begin that journey.

Outside of therapy Mia enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, a warm cup of chai, family walks, and travelling.
